Our projects Neighbourhood Management

Helping local residents link in to all the mainstream public services that serve the area –  Police, Council, Health Service, Schools – is vital if the improvements gained from the Trident programme are to be maintained. Neighbourhood Management is setting up the structures that will make this happen.

  • We will continue to increase the proportion of residents who are satisfied with the area as a place to live, and the number involved in community activities on a voluntary basis.
  • We encourage local residents to fulfil their responsibilities as citizens, and play their part in looking after their own neighbourhoods. At the same time, we help them to exercise their rights to raise issues about the public services they receive.
  • We keep in touch with local residents, businesses and front-line workers through forums and neighbourhood groups, bringing people together to find local solutions to local problems and trying to ensure that under-represented groups have opportunities to take part.
  • We maintain and develop links with other local organisations and service providers, to ensure that all are working in the best interests of the Trident neighbourhoods. The proposed new neighbourhood Parish Council will be particularly important if it comes into existence in April 2007
