Children & Young People
Trident Extended Schools Community Partnership
Trident runs and manages this Extended Schools cluster of 10 Primary, 1 Secondary and 3 Children’s Centres. Providing out of school and holiday activities and courses for adults, especially parents and carers. Bradford Council is our key funding partner for this project.
Youth Forum and Youth Ambassadors
Trident supports a Youth Forum and locally elected Youth Ambassadors through its community involvement strand.
Safer & Stronger Communities
Trident Neighbourhood Wardens
The team of 4 wardens patrols the area work to reduce anti social behaviour, fly tipping, graffiti and other environmental issues. The team works with vulnerable sections of the community and works closely with the police.
Anti-crime Partnership
The Bradford Trident Anti Crime Partnership is co-ordinated by Bradford Trident and the local Neighbourhood Policing Team. Consisting of representatives from local housing and crime family agencies it addresses current crime prevention issues and addresses the overall fear of crime agenda.
Neighbourhood Management
Trident supports 4 Neighbourhood Action Groups who seek to influence delivery of local services. The same aims are part of the remit of various forums which are mentioned specifically at other points. Trident also works in close partnership with agencies such as Neighbourhood Support Services, the police, probation, the PCT, registered social landlords, schools and children’s centres plus community groups like West Bowling People’s Partnership, Attock Community Association, MAPA, Light of the World and Marshfield Neighbourhood Association.
Trident Faith Forum
The Trident Faith Forum is co-ordinated by Trident Officers and meets quarterly. Representatives of the major faiths in the area meet to discuss current issues.
Trident A8 Forum
The Trident A8 Forum is co-ordinated by Trident Officers and meets quarterly. This forum includes people from agencies whose work brings them into contact with A8 economic migrants. The forum also organises events that create opportunities for new community members to meet with our established communities.
Health & Wellbeing
Healthy Living Project
The Healthy Living Project works with vulnerable and under-represented residents to narrow the gap in health equality.
The PCT is our key funding partner for this project.
Trident Community Health and Wellbeing Partnership
The Trident Community Health and Wellbeing Partnership is co-ordinated by Bradford Trident. It consists of representatives from health agencies and community groups and addresses health issues in the area.
Economic Development and the Environment
Facelift Plus
Repairs and renewals to older private housing stock. The aim is to do a street of at least 10 houses each year. Funded and managed entirely by Trident legacy funds and arrangements.
WBYI NEET
This project to engage hard to reach young people and get them into employment, education or training is managed by West Bowling Youth Initiative.
Living Street and Open Spaces
Bradford Trident officers continue to work with partners such as Bradford Council and property developers to maintain high quality parks and open spaces including the pedestrian friendly Living Street which runs through the area.
Business Forum
Over 200 local businesses are registered members of this forum, organised by Trident Officers. It meets once per quarter as a useful motivational and networking vehicle in the area.
GRID
Part of the Bradford LEGI programme with some additional funding from Bradford Trident. This project helps new business start-ups with advice and support. It also offers developmental assistance to existing micro-businesses.
Environment Forum
Organised by Bradford Trident officers this local grouping of officers from partner organisations tackles current and emerging environmental issues.
Community Council
The Board of Bradford Trident realize that continued community empowerment is the key to our future success and this mirrors a key area of government policy which is supported by the Community Empowerment White Paper.
Approval has been received approval from CLG for Bradford Council to establish a Community Council. After the election in June 2009 6 Community Councillors will represent the interests of residents as Company Directors to the Bradford Trident Charitable Board. The remaining 13 Company Directors will be 2 ward councillors, 2 faith directors and 2 from the private business sector. The Police, PCT, schools, youth and registered social landlords will have one represe |
